Lyons Colorado: Day Trip from Estes Park

Lyons is located only twenty scenic miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park Colorado on Hwy 36.   Its beautiful red cliffs that border the town create a sandstone bowl and help to create a mild climate that is cool in the summer and fairly warm in the winter.    There’s rarely a day without at least a few rays of sunshine.   The area offers a traditional small-town atmosphere with its downtown shops, restaurants and nightlife.   Don’t miss Lyons’ many fine shops from antiques to original works of art, hand-blown glass and unique gifts.

Spend a few hours floating on a tube in the river – Meadow Park and Bohn Park are both great launching areas for a fun water adventure. Float anywhere from a few feet to over a mile. Bring your own tube for a day of fun!   Visitors can also find some of the best mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing right outside of town.
